Want to make a shakere (rattle, shaker, noisemaker)? If you have a little patience you can make a truly traditional percussion instrument.

Here is the shaker in a red car.

The Leopard/Lady rattle is gourd and gravel rattle. It has a nice sound, and will be used ritually in part of a current project.

The Kitty Shaker is gourd and cowrie shell shekere. It is quite loud and was made for a friend. Oddly she is afraid of cats but she will have to hold that tiger by the tail.
